ART Management Committee

ART is led by a team of ringers, teachers and tutors elected by its Members.

The Management Committee comprises the elected officers of ART: the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Other members are elected or co-opted onto the committee because of their specific skills. The committee is the operational management and decision-making body of ART and has responsibility for the implementation and development of its schemes.

ART Trustees

Trustees of the Association are appointed annually at AGM of the Association. The Association Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer are ex-officio trustees. Trustees have an oversight of the governance of the Association with particular responsibility for ensuring that it is:

  • Carrying out its purposes and benefiting the public.
  • Complying with its constitution and with charity and all other applicable law.
  • Managing its resources responsibly.
  • Accountable for legal requirements and to its members.

Those appointed at the 2023 AGM were Lesley Belcher, Leslie Boyce, Chris Enzor, and Andrew Wilby.


Chair

Andrew Slade provides both the strategic and operational leadership required to ensure that the organisation’s aims are achieved, and that only activities that support ART's charitable purposes are pursued. Andrew is the public face of ART representing the organisation at events, functions and partner bodies.

Secretary

Annie Hall provides administrative support to the organisation, ensuring the smooth running and reporting of meetings, maintaining records, producing the annual report and updating internal policies and procedures. Annie deals with all external correspondence.

Treasurer

Sue Dixon looks after the organisation's finances, ensuring records and procedures are maintained and ART remains financially viable, notifying the committee of any concerns. Sue ensures appropriate financial procedures and policies are in place and are adhered to.


External Appointments

Stephanie Pattenden is the Independent Education Adviser. She reports periodically to the Management Committee with recommendations and advice. Her responsibilities include:

  • To overview all aspects of ART work to ensure efficacy, and that high standards are achieved and maintained.
  • To ensure that the delivery of both the day courses and on line resources are maintained to a high and professional standard.
  • To ensure that the systems for on-line assessment are effective, correctly managed and used appropriately.
  • To ensure high a standard of mentoring is maintained in the post course period.
  • To ensure that codes of conduct and best practice are adhered to.
  • To ensure efficiency in operation.

Chris Ridley is the Independent Examiner.
