Course and Workshop Coronavirus Guidance

Guidance considerations

This guidance should be considered alongside other key documents:

  • Government statutory regulations
  • CCCBR, church authority guidance available from the CCCBR
  • ART Course and Workshop risk assessment
  • Local risk assessments

Aim

The purpose of this document is to remind all Course Organisers and delegates about the risks associated with the Covid-19 virus whilst meeting as a group of ringers and to ensure the risks are evaluated and mitigated for each event by the Course Organiser and ART Tutor.

The statutory regulations and local requirements take precedence over any suggestions included here.

Choice of venue

Ventilation is a key factor in the spread of the virus and so the venue should be airy and well ventilated. Open ringing rooms with open access are preferred.

The numbers attending and space available must be considered.

The use of a separate room for the theory sessions is required.

Personnel

Any delegate who experiences symptoms of Covid-19 or who has been in close contact with anybody who experiences such symptoms should immediately inform the Course Organiser and withdraw from the course. A full refund will be given by ART.

The Course Organiser and ART Tutor should agree what Covid-19 mitigation measures are required and these should be made available to delegates at or after the time of booking. Delegates may withdraw from the course if they are uncomfortable with the suggested mitigation measures or any changes in the course of the pandemic. A full refund will be given by ART.

Vaccinations

Whilst those who have been fully vaccinated may well feel much more comfortable ringing with others it is important to remember that not all delegates may have yet received the vaccine. Furthermore, being vaccinated does not prevent you from passing on the virus and so the mitigation measures agreed must apply to all attendees.
