Poverty and Disadvantaged Policy

Purpose

To ensure that those in poverty are not excluded from the opportunity to benefit from the schemes operated by ART.

Policy

If anyone applying to attend an ART Day Course or Workshop does not have the funds to pay for the course the Course Organiser and Tutor will:

  • Investigate local sources of funding including the Local Association, Church, or other local general or educational charity or source of funding.
  • If unsuccessful, the Tutor will liaise with the ART Management Committee to approach a national ringing or educational charity.
  • If unsuccessful, the Management Committee will consider waiving the course fee.

For new ringers, often there is a payment to the Teacher or teaching body for facilities or maintenance or educational funds. This is not under ART’s control but If a new ringer does not have the funds to pay, the Teacher is encouraged to:

  • Investigate local sources of funding including the Local Association, Church, or other local general or educational charity or source of funding.
  • If unsuccessful, the Teacher may liaise with the ART Management Committee to approach a national ringing or educational charity.
  • If unsuccessful the Teacher should consider waiving the fee.
