Could you be the ART Safeguarding Officer?

We are looking for a Safeguarding Officer to assist the ART Management Committee and Safeguarding Administrator. In this role, you should expect to work for about a half a day a month, plus two or three days a year to keep the ART safeguarding policies up to date.

Tasks

  • Assist the ART Management Committee in developing, promoting, and ensuring compliance with ART safeguarding policies.
  • Be the first point of contact for members and staff for any issue concerning the safeguarding of Children or Adults at risk, poor practice and potential or alleged abuse.
  • Ensure that all incidents are investigated and dealt with appropriately liaising with other bodies as appropriate.
  • Regular policy review, which takes into account the requirements of other stakeholding bodies and current legislation i.e. Appropriate religious organisations e.g. CofE, Insurers, Charity Commission and the CCCBR.

Skills and Requirements

  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of child protection and how to handle issues.
  • Keeps up to date with changes in legislation and changes in policies of stakeholders.
  • Clear enhanced DBS check and leadership level CofE training.
