The Association of Ringing Teachers is looking forward to attending our first Ringing Roadshow! We will be hosting an open stand and presenting a seminar in order to enable as many ringers as possible to find out more about ART and the schemes it has developed – the Integrated Teacher Training Scheme and Learning the Ropes.
Come and meet us during the day at our stand, located adjacent to the Central Council Education and Ringing Centres committees. A number of the ART Management Committee and ITTS Tutors will be on hand to provide general teaching tips, advice to those using ITTS and Learning the Ropes, much more information about the schemes and also to hear any concerns you may have.
Our stand is also hosting two Saxilby Simulators, which will be available all day to work on handling activities or practice teaching techniques. Additionally there will be information to read and take-away, plus the opportunity to buy the full range of ART products including our Bell Handling DVD, Recruitment DVD, Teaching Toolboxes and Youth Toolbox CDs with screenings of both DVDs through-out the day. ART Members should bring their Membership cards for discounted pricing. We will also be asking for everyone’s opinion about how we can change and improve ITTS – visit the stand to add your voice to our consultation.
At 3pm in The Whitechapel Room, Pip Penney will be leading a special seminar on ‘Teaching for the 21st Century’. This will include the background and development of ART (and the ITTS and Learning the Ropes schemes), how we hope to help support ringing as it faces the issues of the future, how the schemes work in practice and the experiences of Teachers and Ringers using the schemes.
If you are already using ITTS or Learning the Ropes, come along to let us know about your progress – we love to hear of your successes – and also with questions you may have. Please also drop in to the stand or seminar if you’d like to find out more. We will be happy to help with any of your questions and invite everyone – as a Teacher or Ringer – to become involved!
