M2: 1 Jan 2014 - Birmingham

ITTS got off to a swift start in 2014 in Birmingham.

The Birmingham School of Bell Ringing (BSoBR) (an ART Teaching Centre) had been trying to find a Saturday to hold an ITTS Module 2 – Teaching Elementary Change Ringing Day Course for some time but each Saturday all their ringers are busy teaching.

BSoBR uses only teaching staff who are ITTS trained and there was a demand for change ringing teachers to work at the three towers running courses in Foundation Skills, Plain Hunting Skills and Learning early methods.

An urgent request was made at short notice and the Day Course was arranged for the first day of the New Year – not the best timing for those out partying the night before!

However, all delegates arrived on time and the excellent venue of St Paul’s in the Jewellery quarter of Birmingham. Its teaching room, with all mod cons, situated immediately below the ringing chambers led to the day running very smoothly.
