M2C: 1 February 2020 - Gressenhall

After a longish gap since completing Module 1 I finally signed up for a Module 2 course. I chose 2C rather than 2F as I wanted to learn about teaching the elements of change ringing.

There were ten of us, seven from our branch of the Norwich Association, two from one of the other branches and one person from further afield. If there is a downside to doing 2C (as opposed to Module 2F) it’s that there is a lot to fit into one day. However our tutor, Graham Nabb, did a fine job and covered the ground in enough depth but without making it feel rushed or skating over the details. As well as the classroom-style presentations there were two practical sessions, which I particularly enjoyed.

I came away, as I am sure the other attendees did, with my head buzzing with new ideas and full of enthusiasm. Of course the real work starts now; I have done my online multiple- choice test and so it’s down to reading the Teacher’s Guide to consolidate what we learned on the course and then preparing my first lesson plan. I am looking forward to it.
