M1 - 28 May 2022 - Leominster

The M1 course took place at Leominster Priory, arranged for the Hereford Diocesan Guild. Tutored by the double act of Frank Seabright and Paul Lewis, HDGB members themselves, this course was attended by nine Guild members from right across its area together with one other person from just over the border in Gloucestershire (allowed in for the day!).

Lots of interaction, willingness to get involved, and plenty of discussion ensued all across the day. Leominster was a central and welcoming venue – good facilities and great hospitality. Many thanks to Tower Captain and Guild Secretary, Mark Pugh, for all the arrangements and for keeping everyone very well fed and watered.

We received some great feedback which we'd like to share with you.

“Good to see a well-structured teaching/learning scheme. Well balanced enjoyable day – thank you.”

“Without this course I can’t see how I’d really be able to properly teach, so ESSENTIAL!”

“Good balance of theory and practical sessions. Lots of steps (including plenty of stone ones!). Also enjoyed the approach of learning by small stages.”

“Communicated information well. I’ve taken many things away from today including tidying up my own techniques. Many thanks for the session.

“Very well-run course. Very helpful tutors. Looking forward to the next stages.”

“Felt that some of the explanation re. coils when teaching ringing up and down in easy stages could have been clearer.”

“Really good refresher on teaching bell handling with some new ideas and fresh perspectives on breaking down and skills building.”
