The Learning the Ropes Call Change Scheme aims to raise the profile of call change ringing as an end in itself, presenting an ideal project for bands to work together. It places emphasis on learning to conduct and encourages ringers to become competent at ringing anywhere in the circle. Some of the more advanced exercises have been drawn from the peals rung in Devon, where call change ringing is a speciality and the standards of striking are exceptional. It is expected that emphasis should be placed on the importance of listening and striking.
